Obituary of Ann M. Black

On Thursday, July 7, 2011, Ann Miller Black, of McLean, Virginia, passed away peacefully. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on June 19, 1931, she was the first child of Roy and Harriet Miller. Ann had two younger brothers, Roy and Richard. Ann’s childhood years were spent in Bauxite, Arkansas. The family moved to Larchmont, New York in 1945 and then to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1953. Shortly thereafter she found work in the Washington, DC area. She moved there and remained in the area until her passing. While in the Washington, DC area she married George J. Black, III, in 1959. The union produced three children. She is survived by her brothers, Roy Miller, Jr., Richard Miller and his wife Joan; her children, David, Janet and Marianne, as well as her grandchildren, Terry Hughes, Justin Hughes, Liam Strobel and Lauren Strobel. Services will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, July 23 at Saint John the Beloved Catholic Church, 6420 Linway Terrace, McLean, Virginia. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, 401 North Roosevelt Street, Falls Church, Virginia. All are welcome.
