Obituary of Joseph Braxton Loughran

Loughran, Joseph Braxton, on Friday, May 27, 2011 of Oakton, Virginia. Father of Joseph Braxton and Kathleen, father in law of Martin. Brother of Betsey Whitehall, stepbrother of Kevin, stepson of Bernice Nicholson(Loren), uncle of many loving nephews and was preceded in death by his stepsister, Maryann Rundell. Joe served his country in the Army during the Korean War, graduated from UVA in June 1956, and worked for the Federal government for 30 years. He was a member of the VFW Post 180 and Moose Civil War Roundtable in Centreville, VA, and in 1984 began the Washington DC Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club. Graveside services will be held Monday, June 6, 2011 at 2 PM at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to AMC-DC Chapter.
