Obituary of Everts R. Buchanan

Lieutenant Colonel Everts Reed “Bucky” Buchanan (Army, Retired), AGE 92, of Springfield, Virginia, passed away May 16, 2011 of cancer. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, August 26, 1918 to the late Dr. Rea and Lura Buchanan. Bucky received his undergraduate Degree from the University of Nebraska and received his Masters of Business Administration from Syracuse University. He met Willie Mae Magee at the Pentagon and they were married on September 13, 1949. Bucky was career army serving in both World War II and the Korean War. Bucky retired as Lieutenant Colonel from the Joint Chiefs of Staff. After 27 proud years of service, Bucky worked for Boeing Systems followed by civilian service at the Army Military Personnel Center. He was survived by loving wife Willie Mae Buchanan, sons William Rea Buchanan, Ronald Reed Buchanan and grandchildren Mark Reed Buchanan, Kevin Rea Buchanan and Mary Elizabeth Buchanan. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 27, at Advent Funeral Services, 7211 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22046, from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P. M., where a funeral service will be held at 7:00pm.
