Mrs. Harsch was my Girl Scout Leader. She made a big difference in my life. She instilled in me a love of the out of doors and courage to try new things. I have wonderful memories of her.

The photos of Joan and Jack which you selected were beautiful!! Very touching! They brought tears to my eyes as I remembered our relationship through the years. Aunt Joan became a substitute mother-figure to me after my own mother passed away, and I will truly miss her presence in my life. She was someone who spoke the unvarnished truth, and I needed that in my life. I admired her concern for others in need and the importance she placed on family. When I moved to Northern Virginia, she welcomed me as part of her family, for which I was grateful. Later she also welcomed my German husband Wolfgang, often calling him "Wolf-trap" with a giggle! May her spirit now be with friends and family she has left behind.
With sympathy,
Susan Harsch Bamberg (niece)
