We first met Kathy in the late 80s through our shared ministries in our neighborhood church, St. Stephen Martyr. Jim and Kathy became close friends assisting prospective adult converts through the Church’s rite of Christian initiation for adults. The circle of neighborhood and other friends we met through the Church expanded over time into a tight-knit community, due in large part to Kathy’s sweetness, loyalty as a friend, and her delightful, infectious humor.
Kathy was a bulwark of faith and her example an anchor for Jim’s and others’. Though lives’ paths diverged, Jim still felt close to Kathy and will always be grateful for the opportunity to know and love her.
Later, Chona, a choir member at St. Stephen’s, also came to know and love Kathy. We mourn her loss but give thanks for her life and rejoice in the assurance that she is now in the embrace of the Lord.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kathy over the years at various family events for Mary Jackson’s children. Kathy was so personable, and always made you feel like you mattered. You knew upon first meet how important her children were to her, she always had an update on their accomplishments and happenings, and you could hear the pride in her voice. May her memory be eternal in the hearts of those she touched❤️

Dear Gace and Matthew,
I missed your mom very much. She had been my office cubicle neighbor or nearby for so many years. I would not mind or forget her voice I heard over the cubicle for many years, in a pleasant sense ... One time she sat near my cubicle at Crystal Station Office building, and I overheard she mentioned Matthew played a role in his elementary school and needed some sort of general/military ranking of coat. I saved the coat that was used for my son's play in his elementary class and it seemed almost matching her description. I talked to her and was so glad she could use it for Matthew's play. I still remember her loud voice and funny things she declared ... May God blees you and be with you in your life course! My deepest condolences to you and your family!
