Obituary of Martha Jones

Martha V. Jones, born April 19, 1927, passed peacefully this September 29, 2023.

Born an identical twin and one of nine children, in Medellin, Colombia, family was always at the foundation of her identity. She learned the craft of tailoring, and the clothing business, in a shop owned by a sister. After moving to the U.S. to join a cousin in the Denver, Colorado area, she met and married her husband, Richard Jones, in 1963. Her only child, Theodore (Ted) Jones, was born the following year. She was proud to become a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1996. In 2010, after retirement, she moved once more to join her son, daughter-in-law, Adele, and twin grandchildren, Sophie and Alexander, in northern Virginia. A beloved mother and grandmother, she will be missed and remembered by many.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated and recorded at St. Luke Catholic Church, McLean, VA, on Saturday, October 14, 2023. A Committal Rite and columbarium inurnment directly followed at Oakwood Cemetery in Falls Church, VA.
