Obituary of Melpomeni Karanikas

Melpomeni (Maynee) Karanikas passed away peacefully on January 01, 2024 in Aldie, VA.  She was 89.

Born in Nea Gonia, Greece to John and Antiopi Mantzakoufa, she attended high school in Thessaloniki.  She immigrated to the United States in 1957 and lived in the greater Washington, D.C. area since 1962.  She was a member of St. Katherine’s church in Falls Church, VA.  Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Voula and Stella; her brothers George and Kostas; and her husband of 56 years, Nicholas.

She is survived by her sons George Karanikas and his fiancé Denise; John Karanikas and his wife Linda; Dino Karanikas and his wife Anne; and grandchildren Nicholas and Ally.  May her memory be eternal.
