Obituary of Robert Garcia

It is with an absolutely broken heart that I share the news that my dad passed away last night.  In his final hours, as he was during the entirety of his life, he was surrounded by love.  My dad defined what it means to be a girl dad.  He loved me with everything in his being and raised me up to be strong and independent but also compassionate and understanding.  As my cousin said to me, his love was uncomplicated.  He just loved in the only way he knew how- without reservation or restraint.  Having him as a father was the greatest gift, second only to having him as a grandfather, baba, to my babies.  There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them, for all of us.  To say that he will be eternally missed falls short of how much he will continue to be in my heart.  His love and legacy will live on through me, my babies, my mom, my family, and every other person who had the divine fortune of ever having him in their life.  I love you beyond all space and time, dad, and I will be forever grateful that you were mine.
