Obituary of Dorothy Elizabeth Tetley

On February 6, 2024, Dorothy Elizabeth Tetley, 82, peacefully passed away in Falls Church, Virginia, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on April 28, 1941, in Pensacola, Florida, Dorothy came into the world as part of a career military family, traversing continents before calling Falls Church home.

Described as a pure-hearted individual with a radiant spirit, Dorothy touched the lives of all who knew her with her boundless kindness. Her unwavering faith in the Lord was a guiding light in her life and an inspiration to those around her.

She is survived by her children: Gorman Purdy, Lynda Slye Dodson, John Slye Jr., Krista Slye, and foster son Jody Howell, as well as grandchildren Jonathan, Macy, Gracie, and Franklyn. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Capt. Curtis Lynn Tetley, Ret. and Dorothy Herzogenrath Tetley, and siblings Lynda Tupling and Curtis Lynn Tetley Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Community Church, 4238 Wilson Blvd, Second Floor, Arlington, VA 22203 on Saturday March 2, 2024 at 2:00pm.
